1) BODY OF THE HAT

The body of the hat goes up to about 6.5" (16-17 cm) (approximately 3/4 of total height):

2) CROWN OF THE HAT

The decrease of the top is basically reducing stitches between the bobble ribs.

Row 40 (wrong side): knit 1, knit 2 together, * (purl 2 together) twice, knit 2 together, knit 2, knit 2 together; repeat from *, end (purl 2 together) twice, knit 2 together, knit 1.
Row 40: decreasing knits located between purls
Row 41 (right side - follow the pattern with fewer purls): purl 2, * (long loop, knit 1) twice, purl 4; repeat from *, end (long loop, knit 1) twice, purl 2.

Row 42 (wrong side - keep decreasing): knit 2 together, * (purl 2 together) twice, (knit 2 together) twice; repeat from *, end (purl 2 together) twice, knit 2 together.

Row 43 (right side): purl 1, * (long loop, knit 1) twice, purl 2; repeat from *, end (long loop, knit 1) twice, purl 1.

Row 44 (wrong side): knit 1, * (purl 2 together) twice, knit 2 together; repeat from *, end (purl 2 together) twice, knit 1.

Row 45 (right side): purl 1, * (long loop, knit 1) twice, purl 1; repeat from * to end.

Row 46 (wrong side): purl 3 together [=purl 2 stitches and long loop together], *purl 2 together; purl 3 together; repeat from *, end (purl 3 together) twice.

Row 47 (right side): * long loop around 2 next stitches, knit 2 together; repeat from * to end.
Row 47: Long loop around 2 stitches knitted together
Row 48  (last): *purl 2 together, repeat from * to end.

3) FINISHING

Without cutting off the yarn after the last stitch, draw the same yarn string through the final stitches with a hook/needle and tighten them.
Pulling yarn through last row stitches
Use the same yarn string to join the edges together with a hook/needle making a seam moving from top to bottom.

Cut and hide the yarn edges.
